The Southborough Library is holding more afternoon crafting workshops for kids/tweens this winter. The next one up is appropriately timed for holiday gift giving season.
As usual, the sessions will be led by popular crafter Mandy Roberge of Wicked Good Henna. Each will take place on a Wednesday from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. As with all of the Library’s Crafternoons, participation is free, but registration is required.
Below are the dates, descriptions, and registration details.
For ages 8+. Choose from 4 different craft stations to create simple handmade items that can be wrapped for holiday gift giving. To sign up, email Assistant Library Director Kim Ivers at kivers@southboroughma.com.
Succulent Nightlights— January 3rd
For ages 7+. Participants will paint plaster succulents and put them in a mason jar ring before adding sparkly lights. Recycled mason jar lids make this an upcycled craft. To register, click here. (See example image cropped from Wicked Good Henna website here.)
Valentine Glitter Snowglobes — February 14
For ages 8+. On this Valentine’s Day program, participants can decorate a snowglobe with glitter (to enjoy or give to their Valentine). To register, click here.
Mushroom Madness — March 20
For ages 8+. Visit the mushroom stations and to answer your question — none of them involve eating mushrooms! Make a mushroom out of felt and/or make mushroom themed iron-on patches. Finish the hour by decorating a couple of mushroom cookies to take home. To register, click here.
Updated (12/27/23 2:36 pm): I added the age for Mushroom Madness.
Updated (12/29/23 12:01 pm): I added a link to an example image of Succulent Nightlights cropped from Wicked Good Henna website here.
Updated (2/2/24 3:55 pm): The Mushroom program is on the 20th, not the 11th (which isn’t a Wednesday). It is currently listed incorrectly on the Southborough Recreation website, but that will be updated. (I also fixed the link for that program.)
