Weekly Adaptive Gym Games classes for ages 6+ are being offered through Rec Connect* starting Wednesday.
The adaptive classes are designed to allow children and teens with disabilities play classic gym games. Rec promotes:
Gym class is back in session! Coach Chip will be rotating through floor hockey, basketball, kickball, and partner asteroids every 2 weeks. Don’t let the winter blues get you down, come out and stay active with us!
Classes will run Wednesday evenings from January 17 through March 20th, except for school break (February 21st).
Participants will be split into two age groups:
- 6-15 yr olds (from 6:00 – 7:00 pm)
- and ages 15+ (7:00 – 8:00 pm)
Classes will be held in Shrewsbury, at the Floral St School gym. The session costs $80, with registration through Shrewsbury Rec’s website here.
*As I previously posted, The Recreation departments of Southborough, Northborough, and Shrewsbury formed the “Rec Connect” partnership to offer adaptive programs that include support for residents with disabilities and some social opportunities with residents without disabilities.
