The Southborough Senior Center is holding a cartoon drawing workshop over breakfast next week with professional cartoonist Rick Stromoski.
The “Let’s Draw Animals” workshop was initially scheduled for January 10th, but postponed due to the weather. It has been rescheduled to Wednesday, January 24th, 10:00 – 11:00 am. The suggested donation to participate is $3, which covers breakfast sandwiches.
Registration is still open. Since the center is closed for renovations today and tomorrow, they will accept sign up via voicemail messages for this program (508-229-4453).
Last year, Stromoski led a virtual session for the center. This year, he’ll be in-person. The Senior Center’s newsletter promoted:
Award winning Cartoonist Rick Stromoski will offer an in-person, hands on cartooning lesson on how to draw a variety of cartoon Animal characters using simple, easy to follow techniques for all ages! Show your family and friends how talented you are after this program. They will be very impressed. All supplies included.
The artist’s website states:
Rick’s illustrations and cartoons have appeared in national magazines, advertising, book publishing, children’s publications, licensing, newspaper syndication and network television. He has won a bunch of awards. Member of the Society of Illustrators, The National Cartoonists Society and the local Costco.
This winter, he posted a promo video on instagram that should give you a better preview of the lessons he offers:

Because the programs sometimes have waitlists, registered participants are asked to cancel if their plans change.
