Recently, a couple of videos were posted by Southborough Access Media and Northborough Cable that I thought were worth sharing with readers. When I dug a little, I discovered more published last year that I had missed.

Parenting your A+ Child: Angry, Active, Anxious or Awkward
Last week, Southborough Youth & Family Services held a virtual discussion with an Social Educator Donna Shea. The topic was helping parents deal with:
potential challenges that a child has that may be contributing to disruptive behavior in the classroom, in extended daycare or at home. These are the A+ kids. Awesome, with a little extra “plus.”

ARHS Holiday Concert
Algonquin’s annual December music and arts festival. The video captured the concert in the auditorium featuring Choral groups, Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble I.

ARHS Principal in the Harbinger’s Hot Seat
Earlier in December, journalist for Algonquin’s school paper launched an interview series clearly inspired by Hot Ones, a show in which celebrities commit to eating “a progressively spicey chicken wing” throughout the interview.
First up in the “Hot Seat” was their principal, Sean Bevan.

Making Maple Syrup with Tony Willoughby
In the fall, the Southborough Open Land Foundation and Southborough Library sponsored a presentation at the Southborough Senior Center on how to make your own maple syrup, including identifying trees and how and when to tap.

LGBTQ+ Pride Panel
In June, Southborough Youth and Family Services held an LGBTQ+ panel discussion for parents, guardians, friends and allies under the title “Love. Support. Learn.”
The event took place at Algonquin, where Northborough Cable captured it.

Celebrate Wellness 2023
In late May, Southborough Youth & Family Services held a reception for Mental Health Awareness Month. It included a tribute, posthumously honoring late resident Kim Tolander with the 2023 Laurie Sugarman-Whittier Wellness Award.
The event also included live music, and a community art gallery.
