If there is someone whose service to the Southborough Library you think is worth noting, here’s your chance. The Southborough Library is seeking nominees for the annual Peggy Tuttle Award for Library Service Distinction.
Nominations are due by Tuesday, March 12th at noon.
To me, the award is always less about service to the library, than service to the community through the Library.
Winners have included service oriented staff members and volunteers. (Beloved, late staff member Peggy Tuttle was both in her lifetime.)
This year’s winner could be someone you nominate. Here are the details from the Library’s website on this year’s award nominations:
Nominations are now open for the annual Peggy Tuttle Award for Library Service Distinction. This award is named in recognition and honor of longtime library employee Peggy Tuttle. During her 30+ years as a librarian, Peggy Tuttle always said that the people were the most important part of her job at the library. Peggy played a huge part in establishing the welcoming attitude and creating the charm of our town’s library. Children’s Librarian, Kim Ivers, who knew Peggy Tuttle for the majority of her professional career, described Peggy Tuttle as “the embodiment of customer service.” . . .
The Peggy Tuttle Award will be presented at Southborough Annual Town Meeting on Saturday, March 23.
You can download a form to print out or submit a nomination online. If you have any questions, you can direct them to Library Director Ryan Donovan (rdonovan@southboroughma.com).
