The “Gardens that Work” group is inviting the public to join them to help clean-up the Native Pollination Preservation Garden at the Southborough Library this Thursday, April 18th.
It’s part of the monthly meeting for the group organized by the Open Space Preservation Commission in partnership with the Southborough Library:
This month’s meeting will focus on simple changes we all can make to common gardening and landscaping practices that preserve biodiversity and help prevent species extinction.
The group will begin doing its “ecological spring garden clean-up” in the garden. Members and volunteers will help out while learning about the differences between ecological clean-up methods and those traditionally used by gardeners.
Organizers are encouraging participants to bring their gardening gloves (and clippers if you have them), but they will have extra to share for those who don’t. Other gardening equipment will be provided.
The group will meet at the Native Garden Preservation Garden next to the Library Parking Lot from 6:30 – 8:00 pm.
Speaking of ecological cleanup, this year’s Earth Day Clean Up in Southborough will be on April 27th. Stay tuned for a post with those details.
