Kenneth Hayes, 60, of Southborough, passed away Monday, April 15th, 2024, surrounded by family. He was the son of the late Joseph and Rita (Boutilier) Hayes of Natick, MA. Ken was the beloved husband of Lisa (Milam) Hayes, to whom he was married for 33 years. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph Hayes of Florida.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Jamie and Julia Hayes of Southborough, MA, and Jamie’s partner James Sardella of Stoneham, MA.
He is also survived by his siblings Barbara Cusick and her husband Mike of Tucson, AZ; Teresa Davis and her husband Paul of Tucson, AZ; Mary Aiello and her husband Bill of Natick, MA; Stephen Hayes of Tucson, AZ; and Robert Hayes of Webster, MA; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ken was born in Cambridge, MA, and grew up in Natick, where he attended the public schools and graduated in 1982 from Natick High. He later attended college at Western New England University, where he received his Associate’s degree in Criminal Justice.
Ken had a long career as an electrician and fire alarm technician, for most of which he was self-employed. He worked as a police officer in several towns and at UMass University Hospital. He also volunteered his time as a call firefighter in Southborough for many years.
Ken was an avid Bruins fan, as he played hockey all of his life. He was never happier than on vacations at the beach on Cape Cod, spending time with family and friends. Ken was the most outgoing, generous, and funny person in the room—he always had a joke, story, or funny song for any situation. He loved his family more than anything. He has always been actively involved in his daughters’ endeavors and was so proud of them and all of their accomplishments.
We will all miss his laughter, smile, and big personality. We will love him and hold him forever in our hearts.
Visiting hours will be held Sunday, April 28th from 4:00-7:00 PM at Morris-Johnston Funeral Home, 40 Main St., Southborough, MA, 01772.
