A member of the Southborough Scholarship Advisory Committee asked me to share a request for donations. Next month, the committee will be working to select recipients for three scholarships, including the Town Scholarship. Apparently, that fund is “down this year” and they are seeking community support to help make college more affordable for some deserving students.

The Town Scholarships are funded through donations (not taxes). The request is specifically to help support the fund* established in 1987 to grant scholarships to residents who are currently enrolled in a “post-secondary undergraduate program” or are high school seniors planning to attend one next year. In selecting applicants, the committee “takes into consideration volunteer and work experiences that benefit the Southborough Community, academics, financial need, extracurricular activities, as well as written expression”.
