Last week, Algonquin held another recognition ceremony for the latest round of seniors who have announced commitments to play college sports next year.
I’m sharing their news, plus the highlights from last week’s competitions and what’s on tap this week in high school sports.
In Tennis, the Girls’ record is now 4-1 after its third straight win. The team beat Hopkinson 5-0 last Tuesday. The Boys lost 4-1 to both Marlborough and Grafton last week, updating their record to 0-3.
Girls Rugby won its second game of the season, 56-0 over Cambridge Rindge & Latin. You can watch the game here. Boys Rugby lost 46-0 to Belmont.
Baseball’s record remains 50/50 after an 8-5 loss to Leominster followed by a 12-1 win over Westboroug ast week.
Softball suffered three more losses last week, to Westborough (10-2), Marlborough (5-2), and Groton-Dunstable (10-6). They now stand at 2-5. This afternoon, they are scheduled to play a double header against Fitchburg at home.
In Lacrosse, Nashoba beat the Titan Boys 11-10 and the Girls 17-14 on Tuesday. On Thursday the Titans both beat Wachusett, the Boys 8-5 and the Girls 14-11. On Saturday, the Titan Girls racked up another win, 12-11 over Dover-Sherborn. Both teams now stand at 5-3.
Boys Volleyball lost to Marlborough 0-3, but beat Millis 3-1. That updates their record to 2-5.
Girls Golf finally lost a game last week after winning three more. The co-op team beat Ayer-Shirley (23-13), and twice beat Burncoat (28-8 and 32.5-9.5) followed by the 30-6 loss to Wachusett. Their record is now 5-1.

- Elizabeth Connolly, Soccer – Springfield College
