Carol Weeks, 85, of Southborough, died Wednesday, April 24, 2024, surrounded by loved ones at the family home in Weston, VT.
She was the daughter of the late William and Mary (Renee) Archer and wife of the late David C. Weeks.
Carol was predeceased by her sisters, Janet Glynn (and her husband John) and Evelyn (Jeep) Morris (and her husband Richard (Dick), her sisters-in-law, Marie (Tuni) Maley (and her husband, Edward (Red), and their son, Edward), Barbara Hollett (and her husband, David, and their daughter, Patricia), and Margaret (Peg) Archer, and her brother-in-law, Herbert (Herbie) Nelson.
Carol is survived by her son, David C. Weeks, Jr. and his wife, Cheree, her daughter, Donna Truex, and her husband, Todd. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Connor Truex, Courtney Truex, Erika Weeks and Edward (Teddy) Weeks and 5 great grandchildren as well as her brother, William Archer, sister-in-law, Patricia (Patty) Nelson and many nieces and nephews.
Carol and David grew up together on Lake Road in Cochituate, married in November of 1958 and resided in Wayland until 1994 when they moved to Southborough for their retirement years. Carol graduated Wayland High School in 1956 and, thereafter, attended the Katharine Gibbs School in Boston. She worked at Raytheon as a telephone operator, the Cochituate School as lunch lady and went on to become a bookkeeper for several companies, including The Lashette Company, NAHGS, Cedarlawn Tree Service and MetLife, before retiring.
Carol took great pride in raising her children and helping to raise her grandchildren. However, if you ask her, she raised her grandchildren on her own with love and some creative threats. Her husband, David, was known as “a cheap Weeks”, so she learned never to divulge how much anything cost, it was always just a “five bucker.” She generously fed anyone that came to the house, however, truth be told she was not the best cook. She was a good listener, advisor and friend and will be deeply missed.
A small family graveside service will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024, at Southborough Rural Cemetery at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers a memorial contributions may be made in Carol’s name to the Salvation Army, 640 Main Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
Arrangements are under the care of the Morris-Johnston Funeral Home, 40 Main St. Southborough, MA 01772. To leave words of condolence to the family, please visit www.morrisjohnstonfh.com.
