  • Scrunch-Paint a Silk Scarf (2:00 – 3:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Room: Registration is required for this free craft workshop for ages 12+. For details, see related post.
  • Sit & Knit (2:00 – 4:00pm) @ Southborough Library: Biweekly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given.

  • Native Plant Sale (11:00 am) @ outside Southborough Library: Sale of plants that are promoted as preferred by imperiled bee and butterfly species. (Rain or Shine.) For details, see dedicated post.
  • Native Biodiversity through Pollination Garden Tours (11:30 am @ outside Southborough Library & 1:00 pm @ Beals Preserve): The Southborough Open Space Preservation Commission is holding tours “Celebrating Collaboration”. The morning event starts at the garden at the library. For details, see dedicated post.

Monday, June 24, 2024

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Healthy Body Healthy Mind (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Main Floor: This event for ages 12+ requires pre-registration.The fun workshop combines movement and breath work with journaling and conversation. For details, see related post.
  • Teen Craft Club (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Tweens & teens ages 10+ can drop in weekly to make recycled art crafts. No registration necessary.

Tuesday, June 25, 2024

  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Poetry Workshop (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level: Bring in five copies of original poetry to share. The group will provide supportive feedback. If you don’t have a poem, come anyway and share your insights. (Meets twice monthly.)
  • Neary Building Committee Public Forum (8:00 – 9:00 pm) @ zoom: The committee will provide an update and answer questions on the school building project. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.

Wednesday, June 26, 2024

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Outdoor Story Time (4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library lawn: Bring a blanket and listen to stories outside on the lawn! This event is for families with kids of all ages, no registration is required. (In inclement weather, this will move to the Children’s Room.)
  • American Legion Baseball home game (5:30 pm) @ Memorial Field, Northborough: The local team of high school and college freshman baseball players (including Southborough residents) is scheduled to play Cherry Valley. For details, see related post.

  • Mah Jongg (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: The weekly program would love new players to join. Feel free to stop by to watch or talk to one of the players to see if you would be interested. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Youth Nature Club (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Tweens & teens ages 10 -18 are invited to join a club to help with the library’s veggie garden and other outdoor activities
  • Science Heroes: Lost Treasure (4:00 – 4:45 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: TaleWise tells a story and use science experiments to solve puzzles. All are welcome and no registration is required. Sponsored by the Friends of the Southborough Library. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Historic District Reception (7:00 pm) @ Community House, 28 Main Street: The Historical Commission is hosting a casual reception to celebrate the marking of the Southborough Center Historic District and talk about potential future districts. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Art Reception: Voices Carry (7:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Reception for photography exhibit by Chelsea Bradway and Ray Bernoff showcasing LGBTQ+ people. The exhibit is in collaboration with Southborough Youth and Family Services and Southborough Safe Spaces. Refreshments will be provided.

Friday, June 28, 2024

  • Dull Men’s Club (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: Casual social club for senior men. New members are always welcome to drop in. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Canasta (11:15 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Board Games (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Ages 10+ are invited to drop in weekly to play a nature themed board game, led by Youth Services Librarian Marianna.
