Monday, July 8, 2024
- Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Trottier Middle School’s outdoor track: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
- Knitting Club (1:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: Social knitting group — scheduled to meet weekly this summer. Beginners are welcome and supplies will be provided, though you can also bring your own and “any creation you are working on”.
- Teen Craft Club (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Tweens & teens ages 10+ can drop in weekly to make recycled art crafts. No registration necessary.
- Senior Center Summer registration opens (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center or 508-229-4453: The first opportunity to sign up for July and August programs/events at/through the Senior Center. These tend to fill up. For details, see dedicated post.
- American Legion Baseball home game (5:30 pm) @ Memorial Field, Northborough: The local team of high school and college freshman baseball players (including Southborough residents) is scheduled to play North County. For details, see related post.

- Pumpernickel Puppets (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Peter Rabbit puppet show geared to ages 3+. For details, see dedicated post.
- Blood Sugar Screening for Seniors (11:00 am – 12:30 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: No need to fast and no appointment
necessary. - Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
- Poetry Workshop (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level: Bring in five copies of original poetry to share. The group will provide supportive feedback. If you don’t have a poem, come anyway and share your insights. (Meets twice monthly.)
- Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes. For details, see dedicated post.

- Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
- Elder Law Advice (10:00 – 10:45 am) @ phone or zoom: Southborough seniors can sign up for a free 15 minute session of individualized legal advice from an Elder Law attorney. For details, see the Senior Center’s newsletter, p. 9.
- Outdoor Story Time (4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library lawn: Bring a blanket and listen to stories outside on the lawn! This event is for families with kids of all ages, no registration is required. (In inclement weather, this will move to the Children’s Room.)
- Southborough Summer Concert Series (6:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Neary’s Outdoor Stage, 53 Parkerville Road: Southborough Recreation’s free weekly family friendly outdoor concert series. Bring your dinner or buy one there from a food truck. This week’s featured act is Hit the Bus. For details, see dedicated post.

- Mah Jongg (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: The weekly program would love new players to join. Feel free to stop by to watch or talk to one of the players to see if you would be interested. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
- Drop in Legos (10:30 am – 5:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Meeting Room: Children are invited to build with Legos and display their creations in the Children’s Room. Legos will be provided. Parents or caregivers must stay with children.
- Youth Nature Club (11:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Teen Room: Tweens & teens ages 10 -18 are invited to join a club to help with the library’s veggie garden and other outdoor activities
- Blood Drive (12:00 – 6:00 pm) @ Southborough Library Parking Lot: Register in advance for a timeslot to donate blood or walk-in. For details, see dedicated post.
- Sit & Knit (6:30 – 8:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Semi-monthly program for ages 18+ to drop in and work on your latest knitting or crochet projects while you enjoy the company of fellow yarn crafters in a relaxed social setting. All levels are welcome but no formal instruction will be given. (Shifted from Saturday afternoons to the 2nd & 4th Thursday evening of the the month for the summer.)

- Dull Men’s Club (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: Casual social club for senior men. New members are always welcome to drop in. For details, see dedicated post.

- Board Games (2:00 – 4:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: Ages 10+ are invited to drop in weekly to play a nature themed board game, led by Youth Services Librarian Marianna.
