If you haven’t marked your calendar yet, be sure to add Southborough Recreation’s “Summer Nights” festival.
The annual free festivities to mark the end of summer (and the return of families from vacations, camps, and summer homes) will take place on Saturday, August 24th.
I don’t have all of this year’s official details yet, but some are safe to bet.
The festival will include live music on the outdoor stage at Neary School, 53 Parkerville Road. Families can camp out on blankets and chairs in front of it to enjoy the dinners and deserts they buy from the many food vendors/trucks on site.
Athletic fields will feature booths, inflatables, and other free kid-friendly entertainment. (That typically includes fun like face painting, a photo booth, and twisted balloon creations. Sometimes, Algonquin’s Robotics team also holds demos on the tennis courts.)
Parking for the festival will open at 5:00 pm. The festivities run until dark, ending with the fireworks. (Those usually shoot off around 8:15 pm.)
Stay tuned for more details later this summer.
