The Select Board will present their findings and recommendation for regionalizing dispatch services.

At tomorrow night’s Select Board meeting, the board will hold a “public forum” to discuss its plans for potentially regionalizing police and fire dispatch services.

The board is continuing to prepare for bringing an article to Special Town Meeting at the end of September.

As I previously covered, although the the decision is ultimately the board’s, members hope that residents who attend the September 30th Town Meeting will vote to support the board’s efforts. You can read more about that here.

The board had noted the importance of public outreach in advance of the meeting, including a public forum. The agenda for this Tuesday’s meeting (6:30 pm on August 27th) includes “Public forum for regional dispatch services”.

The packet includes a presentation covering their findings from the board’s “investigation” into joining a RECC (Regional Emergency Communication Center). You can view that here.
