For years, Southborough Youth & & Family Services has promoted the importance of understanding steps community members can take to help prevent suicides.
This September, they are spotlighting Suicide Prevention month to raise better awareness and reach out to people who are struggling.
On September 1st, SYFS posted to Facebook:

A post reminded today, pointed out that people struggling aren’t alone, “nearly 1 in 5 American adults live with a mental illness. Want to start finding help today? 988 is available to you 24/7/365 as a phone call, text, or chat!”

Training Waitlist & Helpful Tips
Occasionally, SYFS holds QPR Training on the Question, Persuade, Refer method. It includes an explanation of warning signs and how to respond. The agency is encouraging residents to sign up on their waitlist here to be notified when future trainings are offered. (You can also learn more in a post about one of their past trainings here.)
But you don’t have to wait for a training session to learn more about warning signs and communication tips. SYFS also shared the flyers below from NIH and Samaritans.
