Senior Center Volunteer Coordinator, Part-Time jobs at the Library, Full time Police Officer & Dispatcher, plus a slew of school jobs

The Southborough Library advertised two new part-time jobs, and I realized it has been way too long since I checked the Town’s and schools’ employment listings. So here are the current openings.

Most are open until filled, but three have application deadlines within the next two weeks..

Town of Southborough

  • Volunteer Coordinator for Southborough Senior Center (part-time)
     
    Plan, organize and supervise year round programs for senior citizens specific to intergenerational programming and/or volunteers. Primary responsibilities shall include: recruit, train and oversee volunteers, work with local schools, recreation and youth services as well as other community organizations to build base of support. $32.10 per hour.   • Southborough Library 
    • Library Page (part-time)
       
      Performs basic library services and professional work at the library and circulation desks. Provides public service assistance, shelving of library materials, routinely empties outdoor book drops, and fulfills other duties as needed. Computer skills and previous library experience preferred but not required. Around 5 hours/weekly, required evening and weekend hours. Additional shifts periodically available. $15.38 per hour. This position is geared to teens, who must be at least 16 years old. (They will need to get a work permit.) (Apply by September 19th, click here for details)
    • Library Technician (part-time)
       
      Performs basic library services and professional work at the library and
      circulation desks. Provides public service assistance, shelving of library materials, routinely empties outdoor book drops, and fulfills other duties as needed. Computer skills and previous library experience preferred but not required. Around 6 hours/weekly, required morning and afternoon hours. Extra shifts in the evening and on Saturdays will be periodically available. $15.38 per hour (Apply by September 19th, click here for details)
  • Police Department 
    • Police Officer (full time)
       
      Seeking individuals who are highly motivated, self-disciplined, and possess a strong interest in the community policing philosophy. (Posted until filled. Click links for posting, job description, and current Collective Bargaining Agreement)
    • Dispatcher (full-time)
       
      Job duties include answering business and emergency calls, handling walk-in traffic, assisting the general public, and dispatching Police, Fire, and EMS calls from our new, state-of-the-art Public Safety Building.
