The Southborough Library is again hosting a 6-week Young Scientists program for kids aged 3-6.
The free STEM program focuses on teaching Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. It’s a special “enrichment series” program run by STEM Beginnings and funded through the YMCA Family & Community Partnership.
The program is free, but pre-registration is required.
Participants will learn STEM concepts “through hands-on activities, story time, challenges and simple experiments”
Parents/caregivers are must attend and “are encouraged to help their child and join in the fun”. Siblings are also welcome but must be supervised.
The sessions will take place on Thursday afternoons from 1:15 – 2:00 pm, beginning this Wednesday (September 18th) and running through October 23rd.

Our main goal is to introduce STEM-related concepts through effective instruction and enjoyable activities. We always believe that children learn best when they are having fun.
We also believe that the creation of a fertile ground for learning starts during a child’s early years. We aim to stimulate young minds and inspire them to create and cultivate curiosity toward these disciplines. As a result, we hope to be able to contribute in shaping their intellectual development, opportunities for future study, and choices of career, as well as their capability to make informed decisions in the future.
