St. Mark’s Episcopal Church is again inviting parents to take little kids to a monthly religious service without worries about them acting like kids. The series resumes this weekend.

Their first “Messy Church” of the school year will be held on Sunday, September 22nd from 4:00 – 6:00 pm. (Others are expected to follow on the 4th Sunday of the month.) The event includes crafts and fun activities, Bible stories, and a free dinner.

Parents are expected to remain with their children through the service. Here is the church’s invitation:

Join Us for a Church Gathering Geared Toward Kids

Sometimes church on Sunday morning can be tough. There are often activities for families to engage in. Or maybe it’s the only day you have to sleep in. Or sometimes you worry your kids will act like kids and disrupt other worshippers.

That’s why we’re offering Messy Church!

Started in the UK over a decade ago, Messy Church offers a once a month worship experience for busy families of younger kids. With a Bible story theme for the day; activities, games, and crafts based on that story; a communion service geared toward kids; and a shared meal. In other words, it’s perfect for busy families wanting to engage with their faith.

To help them plan ahead, please register in advance here. (For future months, check here for an RSVP link.)
