The Southborough Cultural Arts Council is encouraging individuals and groups to apply for grants to support artistic projects and activities to benefit the community.
Applications are due by October 17th. To help people who are interested prepare or learn more about the opportunity, they’ll hold office hours next week to answer any questions.
This year, SCAC has been allocated $6,400 to use for awarding grants from $250 to $1,000. Applicants do not need to be a registered 501(c)3, organization, or institution to apply.
Earlier this year, SCAC conducted a survey to find out what Southborough residents would like to see funded. Based on the results, they are encouraging applicants to focus on projects that serve Families with children and/or Senior citizens.
As for what kind of projects quality, there is a wide range.
Under the group’s charge, as the local chapter of the Mass Cultural Council, they can award grants for activities that include exhibits, festivals, workshops, lectures, concerts, theater, dance, music, school field trips, performances in schools, afterschool programs, artist workspaces, and even film.
You can learn more and find the application portal on SCAC’s page of the MCC website here.
The “Virtual Office Hours” being advertised are over zoom on Thursday, October 3rd at 7:15 pm over zoom. (Meeting ID: 981 3909 7107 – No password required.)
