Titans Boys Golf team didn’t make the Central MA D1 tournament, but one of their players did. ARHS senior Liam Dunn came in #1 in yesterday’s tournament in Sutton with 72 strokes. (You can check out the Telegram’s coverage here.) While Dunn qualified for next week’s State Finals, the rest of the team’s season is done.

Speaking of qualifying. . . ARHS Football has a strong chance of making the post-season playoffs for the first time in years.

The boys scored their third win, 27-12 over Shepherd Hill on Friday. That helped them shoot up six spots in the Division 2 rankings to #14. If they can keep their ranking in the top 16, they’ll have qualified to compete in the D2  state tourney.

That’s a big deal for a team that hasn’t been in a post-season playoff since the MIAA revamped the tournament format. (They last played in the Central Mass playoffs as T-Hawks in 2016.)

It wasn’t nearly as good a week for Gonk Field Hockey. The girls’ winning streak was finally broken. First, the girls tied Nashoba on Wednesday (2-2). That was followed by a 5-2 loss on Thursday to top-ranked Lincoln Sudbury. They are now ranked #3 for Division 1 with a record of 12-1-1.

Girls Volleyball‘s shorter winning streak was also broken since I last posted sports news. They lost to Westborough and Shrewsbury, but beat Leominster. (They held their place in the D2 rankings at #9, but the ranking predated the most recent loss.) They now stand at 9-7

In Soccer, the Boys continued to improve their record. They beat Shrewsbury and Westborough, and tied with Wachusett. They now stand at 8-3-3 and moved up 10 spots to #21 for D1.

The Girls also beat Shrewsbury but lost to Wachusett and Westborough. They are ranked #23 with a 5-8-1 record.

For Cross Country, both the Boys and Girls lost meets to Shrewsbury last week. At the annual Twighlight Invitational over the weekend, The Boys team came in #18 in the Varsity 5,000 meter race. (The Girls didn’t participate in the varsity race.) This weekend, they’ll compete in District E Championships.

Now, here are the ARHS varsity games on tap for the rest of this week:

Reminder, tickets for any games which require them (Basketball, Hockey, etc.) are sold here.
