As you prepare for spooky creatures and pretty princesses to start ringing the doorbell this Thursday, I’m sharing some highlights from the Town’s big Trunk or Treat party on Saturday.

It was another beautiful day for it, though occasional wind gusts messed with some of the trunk decorations. (And it may have felt a bit too warm inside some of the costumes at times.)
The event is named after the decorated trunks and vehicles that kids trick or treated at in Woodward parking lot. Southborough Youth & Family Services went all out again. This time they created a Mario World. Other highlights included Southborough Recreation’s displays with pirate skeletons, vampires and Despicable Me inspired volunteers,, Southborough Youth Basketball Association’s witches, and the Southborough Police Department’s spooky crime scene.
Businesses that added to the joy included the return of Ted’s of Fayville’s haunted tow truck and Middlesex Savings Bank’s Automated Treat Machine. And Skyrise Theater created another magical experience for kids. This year, attendees were able to cross “Under the Sea”.
I don’t have photos of the Southborough Fire Association’s parade and party that kicked off the event. But I’m sure that SFA’s contest inspired many of the event goers, including themed family getups.
