Scouting for Food — November 9

The town wide collection for the Food Pantry is coming up in less than two weeks.

Thursday isn’t the only time this week that kids in town will be approaching your doors.

Town scouts will be out in droves this weekend. But their only costumes will be scout uniforms and instead of asking for candy, they’ll be hanging bags with flyers on your doorknobs.

The flyers will ask the community to donate to the big annual Scouting for Food collection drive. That will take place a week from Saturday.

Scouting for Food flyerOn November 9th, the same scouts who hang bags this weekend will return to those neighborhoods hoping to gather a bounty for the Southborough Food Pantry.

Scout families looking to volunteer should head to Pilgrim Church to pick up bags with flyers this Friday night (6:00 – 8:00 pm) or Saturday morning (8:00 – 10:00 am). Bags should be hung on doorknobs (not on or in mailboxes) during the day (not after dark).

The pantry is looking for the following items:

plastic wrap
aluminum foil
solid white tuna
liquid hand soap

Scouting for Food donationsDonations should be left outside on your doorstep or driveway in marked bags on Saturday, November 9th at 9:00 am.

If there are no signs of scouts collecting food in your neighborhood, you can still participate by dropping off items at Pilgrim Church between 9:00 am – 12:00 pm.

Or, you can support the pantry by making a direct donation here.
