The official word is out. Santa is scheduled to return to Southborough the first Saturday in December.
Thanks to Southborough Kindergroup, Santa Claus will be making his annual pre-Christmas trip to Southborough on December 7th. Weather permitting, he’ll be flying in by helicopter again.
(As I always explained to the young ones – reindeer can only fly on Christmas Eve, and the North Pole is quite a long trip by land. It just makes sense.)
The helicopter is scheduled to land on the St. Mark’s field at the corner of Routes 30 and 85 at noon.
(Note: In years when weather conditions make landing a copter unsafe, he arrives by fire engine instead.)
The jolly old elf emerges to greet a crowd buzzing with excitement. After a few minutes, he’ll work his way through to cross the street to the Community House.
Inside is where he’ll fulfill his real purpose — to hear from children what they want for Christmas (while grownups snap pictures and hope their kids’ wishes are reasonable).
While waiting their turn inside, kids can enjoy stories read aloud by Mrs. Claus.
Kindergroup promotes that admission to the 12:00 – 3:00 pm event is free again, including a free professional photo with Santa and complimentary coffee, hot chocolate and cookies! (That’s all thanks to the sponsors in the flyer right.)
There will be other optional activities and food sold by vendors on site. That includes face painting by SkyRise Theater and a food truck.
There is usually other entertainment for families waiting in line (like the character greetings, Christmas Carolers, and/or a crafts/coloring stations pictured below.) So stay tuned for more details on this year’s festivities.
And stay tuned for other Christmas/holiday-related community events in Southborough that day and throughout the season.
