  • Scouting for Food (9:00 am – 12:00 pm) @ Driveways and Pilgrim Church: Scouts will be all over town picking up food donations for the Southborough Food Pantry and sorting items at Pilgrim Church. For details, see dedicated post.

Monday, November 11, 2024 — Veterans Day

  • Federal Holiday: Public Schools and Town offices (including the library and senior center) are closed for Veterans Day
  • Veterans Day Observances (11:00 am) @ All Wars Memorial: Southborough Veterans lead the parade and speeches honoring Southborough service members alive and passed. For details, see dedicated post.

  • Preschool Story Time (10:30 – 11:15 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: Ages 2-5 are invited for stories and a craft based on a weekly theme. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • Bridge (12:00 pm) @ Southborough Senior Center: A weekly card group, welcoming new participants. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Select Board Office Hours (6:00 – 7:00 pm) @ Town House Hearing Room, 17 Common St: Residents are invited to drop in to informally speak with two Board members about any questions, concerns or interests. This session will be hosted by members Kathy Cook and Andrew Dennington
  • Neary Building Tour (6:30 – 7:30 pm) @ Neary School, 53 Parkerville Road: The public is invited to see the school’s existing conditions and ask questions about the proposed project to replace it with a new school for grades 2-5. For details, see dedicated post.
  • Poetry Workshop (6:30 – 8:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main level: Bring in five copies of original poetry to share. The group will provide supportive feedback. If you don’t have a poem, come anyway and share your insights. (Meets twice monthly.)
  • Geeks Who Drink Trivia Night (8:00 – 10:00 pm) @ Owen O’Leary’s, 50 Turnpike Rd: Weekly Trivia game night with prizes.

  • Walking Group for Seniors (8:30 am) @ Southborough cemetery, 11 Cordaville Road: Free weekly walking group organized by the Southborough Senior Center. Walkers generally go for an hour, but continue for as long as you wish. The location is a loop, so feel free to join late.
  • Elder Law Advice (10:00 – 10:45 am) @ phone or zoom: Southborough seniors can sign up for a free 15 minute session of individualized legal advice from an Elder Law attorney. For details, see related post.
  • Young Scientists STEM Beginnings (1:15 – 2:00 pm) @ Southborough Library: This is a free series for children, ages 3-6 to learn STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts through hands-on activities, story time and simple experiments. To register, click here.
  • Crafternoon: Gratitude Journal (4:30 – 5:30 pm) @ Southborough Library, main floor: Pre-registration is required for this free program for ages 8+. This session, create a personalized journal where you can remind yourself of all the things you have to be grateful for. For details, see related post.
  • BSA 823 open meeting (7:00 – 8:00 pm) @ Trinity Church, 23 Main St, Northborough: Girls and non-binary tweens and teens in grades 6-12 are invited to check out the Borough’s troop’s meeting and learn about becoming a BSA Scout.   • Southborough Gardeners’ November Guest Day (9:30 am – 12:30 pm) @ Pilgrim Church Fellowship Hall, 15 Common St: description. The Southborough Gardeners are holding their annual November Guest Day. It includes a floral arranging demonstration from their expert speaker, refreshments, and raffles.   • Mah Jongg (10:00 am) @ Southborough Senior Center: The weekly program would love new players to join. Feel free to stop by to watch or talk to one of the players to see if you would be interested. For details, contact the Senior Center at 508-229-4453.
  • Baby/Toddler Storytime (11:00 – 11:45 am) @ Southborough Library Children’s Room: A weekly program for ages 0-2 years with their parents/caregivers. Each session will include puppets and music. No registration required. For details, see related post.
  • K-8 Half Day: Finn, Woodward, Neary and Trottier Schools will have early dismissal to allow for Parent-Teacher Conferences..
  • Therapy Dog (5:00 – 6:00 pm) @ Southborough Library, Eaton Meeting Room: Destress and relax by spending some time with Julie and glory, a pet partners certified therapy dog. For adults, teens, and kids.
