In honor of today being “Giving Tuesday”, I’m running my annual roundup of holiday collection drives in town.
Winter Wishes
Southborough Youth & Family Services is collecting financial donations (or gift cards) to help Southborough families in need through the winter and holiday season. Families will be given gift cards to buy gifts that their children want and need.
The soft deadline to donate is this Thursday, December 5th, but they will continue to accept donations year round. For details, see dedicated post.
Project Just Because
Each year, the Hopkinton based charity seeks to provide holiday gifts for children from one month, up to age 18. Gifts must be new and unwrapped.
The Southborough Fire Association is again collecting gifts for the cause. Their collection box is in the vestibule at the Public Safety Building, 32 Cordaville Road. The deadline is a week from today — Tuesday, December 10th.
Girl Scouts Sing-along — Event organizers will collect donations for SFA’s drive at the the annual community sing along outside of the Community House this Friday, December 6th at 6:30 pm. You don’t have to be a Girl Scout family to join them.

Since 1947, Marines have been collecting gifts for underprivileged children. Gifts can be for ages anywhere from 1-16 years old. Gifts must be new and unwrapped.

[Editor’s Note: This year, Long Cadillac isn’t able to hold its annual collection drive (stuffing a vehicle on the showroom floor), since they are undergoing some construction. But if you drop off a toy, they will add it to their collection at one of Long’s other area auto dealerships.]
