Yesterday, I posted about the upcoming choral concerts by the many regional singing groups that include Southborough members. But there’s also a regional musical group featuring residents that doesn’t ask members to sing.
This month, the Interboro Community Band is inviting the public to enjoy its annual winter symphonic concert.
The performance is Sunday, December 15th at 2:00 pm. As always, the community is welcome to attend the show for free.*
ICB is led by Music Director Matt Lefebvre. A Southborough resident who is a member of the band promotes:
As the quality and size of this musical organization increases under the experienced direction of Matt Lefebvre, so have our audiences. This year’s program is quite extensive, including a variety of pieces from the concert band repertoire as well as a number of holiday favorites.
Thanks to Westborough TV, you can watch their performance from last December on YouTube here.
The annual winter concert includes an intermission, in which the audience can chat with band members and enjoy refreshments (with “donations gratefully accepted”.)
The performance will take place at Westborough High School (90 W Main St).
ICB was founded by Algonquin’s music director over 50 years ago. (Until the pandemic, the band had rehearsed and performed out of NSBORO schools. When it resumed rehearsals, it was forced to shift locations. Fortunately, they found space in a neighboring borough.)
