On Tuesday, December 17th, Algonquin will hold its annual holiday music festival with art and treats. The public is invited to attend the big concert featuring school instrumental and vocal groups.
While I’m sharing those details, I’ll also highlight the concerts for Southborough’s schools tonight and in two days.
ARHS Holiday Concert
Holiday music will be performed by Algonquin’s Choral groups, Orchestra, and Jazz Ensemble I. The fun starts at 6:30 pm.
Every year, the evening opens in the ARHS Rotunda with performances by their a cappella groups and small chamber groups in the lobby and rotunda area of the auditorium. There student art will be on display and light refreshments available.
The main concert is slated to start at 7:00 pm in the auditorium with the orchestra, Concert Choir, Camerata Singers, Chamber Choir and Jazz Ensemble I.
Towards the end of the concert, all alum of the music program are encouraged to join the orchestra and chorus on the stage for their traditional performance of “White Christmas”.
Members of Northborough Southborough Music Association can attend for free. (If you would like to learn about becoming a NSMA member, click here.) For non-members, tickets should be purchased online here. The prices are $5 per adult and $3 per student/senior citizen.
Southborough schools’ Winter Concerts
Today — Tuesday, December 10th — is the big day for Neary School’s Orchestra and Band. The 4th and 5th graders are performing their Winter Concert for schoolmates at a school assembly. That’s a dress rehearsal for tonight’s concert for families. The evening performance is 7:00 pm in the Trottier Middle School auditorium.
On Thursday, December 12th, it’s Trottier’s turn. The Big Band, Orchestra, and 6th-8th grade bands will perform in the school’s instrumental Winter Concert. That’s 7:00 pm in their auditorium.
The choral groups for Neary and Trottier already performed their joint winter concert last week.
