Holiday Lights Contest: Voting is open and Interactive Map available

As I posted last week, Southborough Recreation is holding a Holiday Decorations contest in town. Last night, Rec posted the interactive map spotlighting homes that provided their details for residents to drive/walk by and enjoy. They also opened voting on the 11 homes entered in the contest.

Given that one home in Southborough has made the news for the past three years, the first place winner may be a foregone conclusion. Fortunately, there are multiple categories and prizes.

You can find Rec’s interactive map here for details on the registered displays around town here.

Voting is being conducted on Facebook through December 22nd with winners to be announced on Monday. Rec promotes:

Grab your cocoa to go and take a trip around town to show all of these beautifully decorated homes some love!!! Share your photos in the comments section of each designated address AND give them a 👍 and ❤️ to vote for your favorite.

The promotion for the contest had promised prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners. The new post promotes prize categories of Office Favorite, Social Media Favorite, and Most Creative. To vote, use Rec’s Facebook post here or below.

As for my reference to the likely top contender, Adam Phaneuf and family made the news again this year for their mega display and tunnel of lights at 150 Parkerville Road. You can see that interview with CBS Boston here or below. Last year, the home was one of three finalists in Boston 25’s “Battle of the Holiday Lights”, and in 2022 MetroWest Daily News wrote about the work that goes into installing the over 100,000 light display.
