Wrapping up the holiday contests

Southborough helped make the winter holidays a bit brighter and more colorful for the community by holding special contests. Now, I’m sharing their news on the contest winners.

On New Year’s Eve, Rec announced the results of the holiday lights contest:

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in Southborough’s First Annual House Decorating Contest! From the dazzling lights to the creative displays, your homes brought so much joy and holiday spirit to our community.

I took some pics of the winning properties, though they really don’t do the displays justice. (Note: I’m blaming the lousy quality on my driver who barely paused!)

The winner of “Social Media Favorite” was a given. 150 Parkerville Road‘s massive display with many festive touches beckons visitors to drive through its wonderous tunnel of lights:

For their “Office Favorite”, Rec’s chose the pretty, classical Christmas style displayed at 44 Oak Hill Road. Props for “Most Creative” went to 11 Pine Hill Road for its numerous jolly lawn decorations backlit by a house completely sheathed in colorful, sparkly lights. I’m also adding a display at 9 Skylar Drive as an example demonstrating that even displays on the map that didn’t rank as winners can be a joy to drive by.

I echo Rec’s posted sentiments about the contest and participation:

We’re so grateful to all the participating homes, and to everyone who voted, commented, and shared photos—your enthusiasm made this event truly magical. Let’s keep the festive spirit alive and look forward to next year’s contest!

Congratulations again to our winners, and thank you all for making Southborough shine bright this season! ✨🏡❤️

I’ll also add a thanks to Rec staff for not only holding the contest but also organizing the community map to help us all enjoy festive displays throughout town! (If you haven’t checked them out yet, I’m guessing that most of them will still be up at least until this weekend. You can find the map here.)

As for their winter coloring contest, the artists weren’t identified, but their works were:

Winner of the age 0-9 age group Winner of the age 9+ age group
