Starting next week, the Southborough Library will host more monthly Crafternoon workshops for tweens ages 8-12.
The sessions are all scheduled for Wednesday afternoons from 4:30 – 5:30 pm on the Library main floor.
First up for 2025 is a workshop geared to make the dark winter months a bit brighter by making Jar Lanterns.
The Library promotes:
Fabric, colorful paper, beads and glass baubles are the media up for grabs in this workshop. Each jar comes with one LED tea light.
Although the session is free, pre-registration is required, and these can fill up. Click here to sign up.

Valentine Cookie Decorating — February 12th
Decorate Valentine cookies using royal icing and a technique called “flooding”. Click here to sign up.
Felt Bookmarks — March 12th
Use embroidery techniques, iron-on fabric pieces and/or and other embellishments to make a triangular bookmark you can slip over the corner of your page to hold your place! Click here to sign up.
Jewelry Makerspace — April 9th
From necklaces and bracelets to earrings and keychains this workshop invites kids to explore beads and findings and different types of wire and hemp to create their own unique pieces to take home. Click here to sign up, starting February 1st.
Terra Cotta Potted Plants — May 21st
Paint a one-of-a-kind terra cotta pot and plant a seed to bring on spring. Don’t wear your best clothes as these paints will stain clothing! Do bring your creativity and imaginations. Click here to sign up, starting March 1st.
