Trottier invites you to “Be Our Guest” for their musical this month

Students will perform Beauty & The Beast Jr on Jan 24th & 25th

Organizers of Trottier’s annual musical are promoting their upcoming production of a Disney classic. The announcement invites the public to “Be Our Guest with Beauty and the Beast Jr.”.

That doesn’t mean the play is free to attend. Tickets must be purchased online.

Trottier Beauty & the Beast Ticket posterThe junior musical is a one hour version (edited for middle schoolers to perform) of the 1994 Broadway play, which was based on the 1991 animated film.

The performances for the public will take place in the Trottier Middle School auditorium (49 Parkerville Road) on Friday, January 24, at 7:00 pm and Saturday, January 25, at 2:00 pm. Admission for students and seniors tickets is $8 each, and general admission is $10. Tix can be purchased here.

For those unfamiliar, the school’s announcement recaps the play’s plot:

Beauty and the Beast JR. tells the story of Belle, an adventurous young girl, and the Beast, her hideous captor who is actually a young prince trapped under a spell. In order to break the spell, the Beast must learn to love another and earn her love in return – before time runs out. With the help of the castle’s enchanted staff, including a loving teapot, a charming candelabra, and a nervous mantel clock, Belle and the Beast find a beautiful friendship and love that neither knew was possible.

The abbreviated version still features songs “from the Academy Award®-winning film score such as “Be Our Guest” and “Belle,” as well as original songs from the 1994 Tony®-nominated Broadway musical.”
*Disney’s Beauty and the Beast JR. is presented through special arrangement with and all materials are provided by Music Theatre International.
