Promoting the upcoming NSBORO schools’ event, “NSBORO Reads” was on my to do list. But I just realized this morning, that organizers are also pre-selling T-shirts with an order deadline tomorrow!
The shirts, featuring a cute graphic designed by a student from Northborough’s Melican Middle School, are being sold to raise funds for “future reading celebrations”. (The unisex sizes range from youth medium through adult 4x.) You can purchase them online for $20 each here through Thursday, January 16th.
You have a bit longer to signup to attend the actual, 2nd annual event organized by Northborough and Southborough Public Schools librarians to celebrate “the community’s love of reading”. (Though, for planning purposes, organizers would rather hear from you sooner than later!)
The 2nd Annual NSBORO Reads celebration will take place on Tuesday, February 4th at Algonquin from 5:30-7:30 pm.
School librarians asked me to share that this year’s “FREE community celebration will include guest readers, book raffles, crafts, games, prizes, photo booths and snacks!”
The district’s weekly newsletter included more details:
This fun-filled event is designed to celebrate reading as a community. Last year over 500 attendees enjoyed book bingo, bookmark making, a literary scavenger hunt, and more. This year’s activities will be expanded to include more community readers, green screen magic, and button-making. Thanks to generous support from our parent organizations, coupled with a grant from the Massachusetts School Library Association, this event will be totally free. . .
Last year was an overwhelming success and the District Librarians are hoping you will join them again this year. They would appreciate it if you would R.S.V.P. using this link so that they can plan accordingly. We are looking forward to a fun-filled evening.
