Obituary: Bruna (Tombari) Vagnini, 90

Bruna (Tombari) Vagnini, 90, of Southborough, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Monday, January 20, 2025.

She was the daughter of the late Allesandro and Elisa (Pedinotti) Tombari and wife of the late Lauro Vagnini.

Bruna is survived by her 99-year-old sister Savina Tombari of Pesaro, Italy, and her children, Elizabeth Reitz (Ronald Jr.), Isabella Smaltz (William), Luca Vagnini (Maria), Anna Maria Bruni (Robert), and Larry Vagnini (Maria). She was the proud grandmother of Ronald Dean Reitz III (Caitlin), Samantha Reitz, Amanda Goldberg (Harry), Austin Smaltz (Melissa), Brianna Vagnini, Giovanna Gioia Bruni, Benjamin Robert Bruni, Sienna Lily Vagnini, and Sophie Belle Vagnini, and great grandmother to Ruby Reitz, Noah Reitz, JJ Rosado, Everet Goldberg, Myra Goldberg, Claire Smaltz, Hazel Smaltz.

Bruna immigrated to Mamaroneck, NY from Pesaro Italy in 1958 with her husband and oldest daughter Elizabeth. While in NY, Isabella and Luca were born. The family later moved to Framingham, MA where both Anna Maria and Larry were born. Bruna lived in Framingham for 34 years before moving to Southborough with her son Larry in 2014.

Bruna worked at Fenwal Electronics and Prime Computer before retiring from Bose Corporation.

She enjoyed summers in Falmouth with her beloved husband Lauro. She was an avid gardener, enjoyed shell- fishing, scenic walks along Great Bay Road in Falmouth, and most of all hosting “Sunday Dinners” for her family, as cooking was the gift she loved sharing. She was a devout Catholic and took comfort in religion.

A funeral Mass will be held on Friday, January 24, 2025, at 10:00 AM at St. Anne Church, 20 Boston Rd., Southborough, MA. Burial will follow at Southborough Rural Cemetery, 11 Cordaville Rd., Southborough, MA.
