Obituary: Marvin C. Ostrovsky, M.D.,

OSTROVSKY, Marvin C., M.D. of Salem, NH, formerly of Southborough, MA, departed this world peacefully on February 2, 2025, while surrounded by his loving family. He is pre-deceased by his daughter Deborah. He leaves behind his soulmate and wife of 60 years Sydney, his son Daniel, his daughter Ellen Wittlin, their spouses Jenny and Scott, grandchildren Deborah, Joshua, Benjamin, Sam, and Kara, his sister and brother-in-law Phyllis and Larry Liebman, Nancy and Jerry Zidle, and many other close family and friends..

Marvin grew up in Everett, Massachusetts before attending Colby College in Waterville, Maine. After graduating, he attended Tufts University School of Medicine, followed by a residency in Pediatrics at the Boston Floating Hospital. He joined the United States Army, where he served as a physician and was honorably discharged at the rank of Major.

Following his military service, Dr. Ostrovsky co-founded the multi-specialty Southborough Medical Group and served as President for 28 years. He was a strong advocate for physician and patient-centered health care. However, his greatest professional joy was taking care of the many children in his practice.

After retiring at the age of 72, Marvin enjoyed spending time at his home on the lake in Salem, New Hampshire with his family. He was a gentle and generous man whose philosophy of being kind to others, dedicating oneself to making the world a better place, and passing on durable values to his family inspired all the people who knew, admired, and loved him.

Funeral service will take place on Tuesday, February 4, at 1:00pm at Levine Chapels, 470 Harvard Street, Brookline. Burial will follow at Sharon Memorial Park, 40 Dedham Street, Sharon.
