Algonquin’s Boys Basketball team is inviting the community to join them for “Musical Bingo” tonight, Wednesday, February 19th.
The event, combined with a 50/50 Raffle, is a team fundraiser.
The fun will take place at The Neighborhood Tavern in Northborough from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.
According to the flyer, each round of play will cost $5. The prizes will be Tavern gift cards (amount not specified).
Proceeds will help the team fund gear and other needs throughout the season.
Hopefully, the event will help lift the varsity team’s spirits. Last night, the boys lost to St. John’s in their last regular season game. That may have pushed them out of the MIAA D1 playoff brackets.
As I wrote yesterday, the team was in the last qualifying place (#33) in the most recent Power Rankings posted Tuesday morning. On social media, #34 Durfee claimed that its win last night punched their ticket to the playoffs. But the final official rankings/seeding won’t be posted until next week. So, stay tuned.
