Above: Beware of a detour this week that will impact travel for a section of town, though not during critical hours. (image edited from Town GIS Map)
The Town announced this afternoon that the “Parkerville Road – North” will be closed all week.
The good news is the details show that the closure is actually only for certain hours. And it seems the scheduling avoids impacting most commuters and most families with kids in school.
The announcement clarifies that the closures are from 9:00 am – 2:15 pm. That’s between the drop-off and pickup times for students at all Southborough schools, except for one. And even that one has limited impact.
Finn School’s drop off hours are 8:55 – 9:10 am. (If your drop-off route for Finn includes driving on the section of Parkerville Road that is north of Route 9, make sure you leave early enough to avoid the closure.)
As for the why. . . The closure is to allow National Grid’s tree trimming crews to do their work.
