The next crafty volunteer opportunity for older tweens and teens to support a good cause is tomorrow.

The Southborough Library is again inviting middle and high schoolers to help with a crafty volunteer project this month. Tomorrow evening’s program will help bring some cheer to a nursing home.

The activity is part of the monthly TLT series. “Teen Library Team” participants can get volunteer credit while helping to “make the world a happier place”. Each month volunteers complete a project that will be donated to nonprofit groups or shared with the community.

TLT Paper Flowers flyerParticipation doesn’t require a monthly commitment or pre-registration.

For the next event, volunteers in grades 6-12 will make “Room Decor” in the form of paper flowers, for a local nursing home.

Interested volunteers can drop in on Tuesday, February 25th, from 5:00 – 6:00 pm in the downstairs Eaton Meeting Room.

TLT Blankets flyerIn March, the program will repeat a successful project from last spring. Volunteers will again make “no sew” fleece blankets for Project Linus.

The non-profit “provides handmade blankets to children 0-18 in the United States who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need”.

That program will take place on Tuesday, March 25th (same time and place).

The free programs are sponsored by The Friends of the Southborough Library.
