There are still openings for next week’s visit from the Blood Mobile. And this time, donors will get to show off that they are helping to keep Boston Strong.
The community is asked to sign up for time slots with the travelling blood donation center that serves Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and Brigham and Women’s Hospital.
As usual, the bloodmobile will be parked in the Southborough Library’s parking lot at 25 Main Street.
If you would like to donate life giving blood through the Blood Mobile, as of this posting, slots are available for the afternoon to early evening on Thursday, March 27th.
As an incentive/reward, those who successfully donate will receive special long sleeved Boston Strong t-shirts. (It’s a good reminder of how critical having a healthy supply of donated blood has been for saving lives during large scale emergencies.)
To register for a slot, click here.
(If the available slots don’t work, for you, they’ll also allow some walk-ins during the noon to 6:30 pm event.)
Brigham and Women’s continues to advertise their pressing need for Type-O positive and negative whole blood. Of course, they always also need blood from those that don’t meet those criteria.
To donate, you must be over 17 years old, at least 110lbs., and “in good health and feeling well”, and bring a Photo ID. (Participants are also encouraged to “Be well hydrated and eat before donating”.)
If you have other concerns about specific eligibility issues, please email BloodDonor@partners.org or call 617-632-3206.
Thanks again to organizer Karen Anglim, who has been arranging for the Blood Mobile to make multiple visits each year for the past few years. Save the dates and/or schedule your donation times for four more drives scheduled for Thursdays in 2025: May 22nd, July 17th, September 11th, and November 6th.
