Next week, the Southborough Library is hosting part 2 of the “Gorgeous Gardens of New England” series with professional photographer Joanne Pearson.

Last week, the Library hosted the first part in the 4 part “armchair tours” featuring Pearson’s photos. The next presentation is this Wednesday evening.

gorgeous gardens part 2 flyerThe Library promotes what the attendees of the March 26th event can expect to enjoy:

we’ll visit Edith Wharton’s home, The Mount, and a second Berkshire, Massachusetts estate, Naumkeag. At both properties, the magnificent grounds and gardens were in part designed by their female owners. We’ll journey to four gardens in Connecticut, including Hollister House, and two plant nurseries and three gardens of which you’ve probably never heard, one in Connecticut, one in New Hampshire and one in Massachusetts.

On Pearson’s website, she describes how the lecture series leverages her experience from a prior career:

Before I was a photographer, I was a landscape architect. I left that career behind to pursue one in photography, but I carried with me my design training and knowledge along with my great appreciation for beautiful gardens, landscapes and travel. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience through a series of lively, informative lectures illustrated of course with my professional photography.

The presentation is at 7:00 pm on the Library’s main floor.

No registration is required to attend the free events.

Save the date for (and click links for details on) the next 2 parts, also on Wednesdays at 7:00 pm:

The library’s free series is sponsored by the Southborough Cultural Arts Council (under the Mass Cultural Council) and the Southborough Community Fund (a fund of the Foundation for Metrowest).

Joanne’s presentations are always very informative, and the photography is fabulous! This is a great, free opportunity to “visit” some of the gorgeous gardens here in New England.
