Algonquin Regional High School’s Student Council is bringing back a fundraiser it launched last spring to raise funds for Dana Farber’s Jimmy Fund.

The GonkPlex SoccerFest will be held on Sunday, May 4th at the school athletic complex.

GonkPlex SoccerFest updated flyerThis year, they are expanding the invite beyond the original U9 & U12. All youth players’ age groups can sign up. (Age brackets for the competitions will be determined based on the teams that sign up.)

Last year, organizers invited youth players to join them for:

an afternoon of fun competitions and games, as well as a chance to show off your soccer skills and teamwork! All sign-up proceeds directly benefit Dana-Farber and the Jimmy Fund on their mission to defy cancer through research and care. Let’s work together to make a difference!

The fun promoted this year will include prizes, face painting, and shaved ice.

Kids are encouraged to form their own team of 6-8 players, with the cost of $100 per team. Student Council confirmed that the event will be 3v3 play format, but with enough rounds for every team member to play.

Click here to sign up your team by April 21st.
