A reminder for readers who haven’t marked their calendars yet.
Next week, the Southborough Gardeners are bringing back a popular past event — their fabulous “Art in Bloom” exhibit. Each participating gardener is crafting a floral/plant display “interpreting” a work of art. This year, it will feature art created by Southborough students.
The exhibits (with paired floral designs and their inspiration) are displayed at the Southborough Library for the public to enjoy.
The 2025 exhibit is inspired by selected artworks by 4th-8th graders from Neary Elementary and Trottier Middle school. (That could include paintings, sculptures, drawing, or other media.)
The 2025 exhibit will open with a “Gala Reception” with refreshments on Thursday, April 10th from 5:30 – 7:30 pm.
The works will be displayed throughout the library’s main floor.
The exhibit will continue during the library’s open hours through Saturday, April 12th at 5:00 pm. (Warning: From my experience, some families start picking up the kids’ artwork on Saturday morning. So to enjoy the full exhibit, don’t wait until that afternoon!)
It has been seven years since the Gardeners partnered with the Southborough public schools. You can check out some photo highlights from the 2018 exhibit below:
The last two times the Gardeners organized a exhibit (in 2023 and 2021), the inspiring art was book covers, and the exhibits were billed as “Books in Bloom”.
