Here are my highlights from Algonquin varsity sports competitions last week and the schedule for this week.
Five games into the season, ARHS Baseball is still undefeated. Their latest wins were over Lincoln-Sudbury (7-3), Leominster (4-3), and Westborough (3-1).

Gonk Softball is only at 2-2 after another win and loss. The team lost to Oakmont 7-5 but beat Marlborough 13-6.
In Lacrosse, the Boys added a third win (8-4 over Grafton) but also its first loss (11-6 to Nashoba). The Girls lost to Grafton 16-10 but beat Nashoba 10-4. They’re now at 2-4. Below is Slovin’s post of the Girls in action during their winning game:

In Rugby, both teams are now 1-1. The Girls suffered their first loss, 7-52 to Brookline. The Boys scored their first win, 29-26 over Catholic Memorial. This Thursday will be the Boys’ first home game.
Last week in Tennis, the Boys added a third win (5-0 over Nashoba) but also its first two losses (1-4 both to Westborough and Shrewsbury). The Girls had identical results (1-4 losses to Westborough and Shrewsbury, plus a 5-0 win over Nashoba), updating their record to 3-3.
Boys Volleyball Is also 3-3 after beating North Middlesex (3-0) but losing to both Marlborough (3-0) and St. John’s (3-2). Slovin posted highlights from the home game win:

Girls Golf* Beat Hopkinton 19-31.
Outdoor Track didn’t have any competitions last week.
