Here are my highlights from Algonquin varsity sports competitions last week and the schedule for this week.
Only four varsity teams were in official competitions over spring break.
ARHS Boys Lacrosse had the best week. They won three straight games, extending their winning streak to 5. Their record is now 8-1. The latest wins were over Grafton (), Westfield (), and Tantasqua.
Both of Girls Lacrosse games last week ended in losses. Acton-Boxborough beat them 11-7 and Medfield 17-7. Their record is 4-6.
Titans Softball also lost both of their game last week. Gardner beat them 9-4 and Grafton 4-2. Their record is now 3-5.
Gonk Baseball suffered a second straight loss in an 8-0 shutout by St. John’s last Monday. Hopefully their 12-2 win over Milford on Wednesday is a sign that they’re back on track for the season. Their record is now 7-2.
MIAA announced that Power Rankings will be posted for spring sports starting tomorrow. (I won’t be posting rankings until next Monday. In the meantime, you can look for those here.)
