As I’ve previously covered, Gregory Martineau will become the Superintendent for Southborough and Northborough public schools this summer. That means the schools need to find someone to take his place as Assistant Superintendent.
A committee charged with assisting in the task is being formed. The deadline to apply is tomorrow, March 6th.
(Note: The short notice for readers on this announcement is my fault. The schools made the announcement last Wednesday, but I just stumbled across it!)
The district is recruiting volunteers for a 15 member committee. Membership will represent each district (Northborough, Southborough, and Regional) and include parents, teachers, and administrators.

Formation of Assistant Superintendent Search Committee
We congratulate Mr. Gregory Martineau, Assistant Superintendent of Schools, on his recent appointment to his new position as Superintendent of Schools, effective July 1, 2019. The District is in the process of forming a search committee for the next Assistant Superintendent of Schools.
As a member of the search committee, each member will be responsible for:
- reading applicants’ resumes;
- developing interview questions;
- selecting the applicants for interviews;
- interviewing applicants; and,
- recommending semi-finalists to the Superintendent of Schools
Members of this committee should be available from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 12 and Thursday, March 14, for meetings. Interviews will be conducted on Thursday, March 21 and (as needed) Friday, March 22 from 8:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. All meetings and interviews will take place at Algonquin Regional High School in the Principal’s Conference Room.
The search committee will be comprised of representation as follows:
- two Central Office administrators
- one Central Office non-instructional staff member
and from each district (Northborough, Southborough, Regional):
- one teacher
- one parent
- one school administrator
- one school committee member
If you are interested in serving on this committee, please submit your name in writing to Cheryl Lepore at the Superintendent’s Office or via e-mail at clepore@nsboro.k12.ma.us by March 6, 2019. All interested parties will receive notification as to the selection of the search committee membership no later than Friday, March 8, 2019.
