Changing of the guard for the Southborough beat

It probably comes as no surprise that I attend a lot of town department and committee meetings. The person most often sitting next to me in all those meetings is Abby Jordan who has covered Southborough and Northborough for the Metrowest Daily News for the past year and a half or so. Covering two towns means Abby has attended even more meetings than I have — lucky her.

But starting this week, Abby is moving on to cover the education beat in Framingham. She’s served Southborough well during her tenure, so please join me in wishing her the best in her new assignment. I’ll miss her company at all those meetings.

And welcome to new reporter Evan Lips who is taking over the Southborough (and Northborough) beat. His inaugural article — about Heritage Day, of course — was posted today.

Thanks for the well wishes, Susan. I’ll also be doing a variety of regional stories, so I’m sure I’ll continue to be in contact with Southborough people in the future. Anyone who needs to get in touch with me can do so by emailing me at: ajordan@cnc.com. My new phone number is 508-626-4449.

I would like to send a great thank-you to Abby Jordan for the excellent work she has done covering Northborough and Southborough Schools. i appreciate how her stories often revolved around students. After all, the educators I have know over the last many years entered the profession because they wanted to make a difference in the lives of students! Abby did a fantastic job showcasing the many ways our schools attempt to meet the needs of each individual student, and, for that, I am most grateful!
