I have to admit I haven’t been paying much attention to Algonquin sports this fall, but good thing Kim over at Northboro News has been. She points out that both the boys and girls soccer teams captured the Central Mass Division 1 title on Monday. Both had been ranked as underdogs.
For the boys, it’s their first division title since 2006. The girls won the division last year, but lost in the state semifinals to Minnechaug.
The girls will get a chance at redemption tonight as they again face Minnechaug in the state semifinal match at Westfield State College (map). The game stats at 5:00 pm. The boys play their state semifinal game against Ludlow tonight at 7:00 pm, also at Westfield State College. Both Minnechaug and Ludlow are defending state champions.

Congrats to the Algonquin Girls Soccer team for their win tonight. Girls bring the State Trophy home!
Boys you fought a tough battle tonight. Wish you had a chance to play on Sat. You should be proud as we all of you at ARSH. Go T-hawks.
