A couple of weeks ago, this blog logged its 100,000th visitor. How cool is that?
In honor of the occassion, I thought it was time to shake things up a bit, so welcome to the new and improved My Southborough! The features you know and love are all still here, but the packaging has been spruced up a bit.
The changes are mostly aesthetic at this point, but I’m planning some functional changes for the future … assuming I can find the time to implement them.
It’s a big change under the hood, so please bear with me as I work out any kinks. And as always, thanks for reading!
hi Susan, layout is nice, but are you planning on adding back the Recent Posts section? I found it helpful…the current “Recent Popular Posts” isn’t quite the same (as seen today). A couple are from earlier this year, if not last year. I would still like a way to get to recents posts, e.g. the Football Game, etc. that I know about. Yes, there’s the Search function, but having really recent posts handy was helpful.
Then again, maybe the “Posts by Date” will work better? See what others think.

This is my first blog. I am an amateur genealogist but have been able to trace my family back to the 1600’s. We are from Cheshire, Lancashire and Yorkshire. I am second generation here, but I understand my Gee family has been in the Greater Boston area for centuries. They owned a shipyard in the North End of Boston, one was an assistant to Cotton Mather and is buried at the Old Burial Ground in Boston.
I know the Gee’s were spread out all over the country. My Woodheads worked and operated mills in many local mill villages. Has anyone come upon these names in their research in this area??
