Ronald O. Edgren, 82, of Southborough, passed away suddenly on Sunday, January 10, 2021. He was the beloved husband of Dolores (Favreau) Edgren for the past 58 years.
Born in Worcester and raised in Quinsigamond village, he was the son of the late Oscar and Janet (Carlson) Edgren. Ron was a graduate of Worcester South High School, earned his degree at Wentworth Institute of Technology and was a key member of Society of Plastic Engineers. Ron was a hard worker and had a highly successful career in plastics manufacturing. He started at the Waterbury Company before becoming President and CEO of Incase and finishing his career at Netco Extruded Plastics. In retirement, he enjoyed working odds and ends at Wee Care For Little People and earning the honor “Wee Care Grampy” .
Ron became a resident of Southborough back in1966 and loved his new hometown. He looked forward to working the Heritage Day parade with the Lions Club, helping with the neighborhood 4th of July celebration with “legal” fireworks and having an extra dry Martini with friends.
Ron’s greatest pleasure was spending time with his family and friends. He cherished his time with his 3 children and their families and barbequing by the pool. He could often be found enjoying a coffee with longtime friends at Monti’s or the Spa, and sharing some “tips from the top” with his grandchildren. Ron enjoyed his annual trip to Florida with Dolores and friends; golf and dinner at the International and projects around the house. And, of course, he took pride in his pristine yard and sparkling car, which was seen often buzzing around town.
In addition to his wife he is survived by his children, Kimberly Edgren and her spouse Karen Fortin; of Grafton; Christopher Edgren and his wife Ami of Northborough; Pennie Robinson and her husband Jon of Grafton; his 7 grandchildren; Alexandra Gulachenski, Olivia Edgren-Fortin, Abi Edgren-Fortin; Anna Edgren, and Brett Edgren; Nathaniel Robinson, and Charlotte Robinson, extended family and friends.
He is predeceased by his brother, Kurt Edgren.
A private burial service will be at Southborough Rural Cemetery. Ron was just as done with Covid as all of us are and we look forward to celebrating his life later this year when we all can do it together with an extra dry Martini on the rocks with a twist, shared stories and hugs.
