For the second year running, Southborough Kindergroup won’t be able to hold it’s traditional Easter Egg Hunt. This year, they came up with an even better (pandemic-safe) substitute than last spring. Save the date of Saturday, April 3rd.
Kids who missed hunting for a coveted “Golden Egg” in hopes of winning a raffle basket should be happy to learn that a variation of the opportunity is back.
Instead of scouring the Community House lawn, families will be invited to follow clues in a community scavenger hunt.
For younger kids for whom seeing the Easter Bunny was the big draw, the bunny’s visit to the Public Safety Building will be repeated this year. Families can again drive by to wave.
Below are details from Kindergroup’s announcement. (Stay tuned for more details closer to the event.):
In years past, Southborough’s Kindergroup has hosted an annual Easter Egg Hunt on the lawn of the Community House, but due to the pandemic and restrictions on the number of people allowed to convene in a public location, they are not able to hold the event this year.
Instead they will be hosting an Easter Bunny Scavenger Hunt on Saturday, April 3 sponsored by Middlesex Savings Bank. Cut-out bunnies will be placed in different locations around town, with clues for members of the community to find anytime between the hours of 9 am to 12 pm. Find all the bunnies to enter to win a “Golden Egg Raffle Basket”.
There will also be a LIVE Easter Bunny standing out in front of the Public Safety building from 11 am to 12 pm to wave at families as they drive through the Public Safety parking lot.
Kindergroup will be collecting donations for the Southborough Food Pantry. The drop off for the items will be one of the scavenger hunt’s clues. . .
The scavenger hunt’s clues will be released a week before the event so stay tuned!
The announcement included a needs list for the Food Pantry (white tuna in water, mayonnaise, dish detergent, zip lock bags (all sizes), tissues, paper towels, cereal, and salad dressing.) However, those needs can change. To check the Pantry’s needs list closer to the event, click here.
