Student Covid Clinic next Saturday

Above: Thanks to a partnership with neighboring Towns, Southborough is able to offer the first dose of pfizer’s Covid vaccine to students ages 16+. (image of pfizer vaccine from Wikimedia Commons)

The regional clinic is holding special hours for community students a week from today. High School students ages 16+ from the seven collaborating towns, including Southborough, can get their first dose of the Pfizer vacccine for Covid-19.

Students must be 16 years old by next Saturday, May 8th to take part in the clinic that day. The clinic is located at the DoubleTree in Westborough. Scroll down for details.

As long as I’m sharing this, I’ll also add an update on the latest Covid figures posted by the Town “as of” yesterday morning at 11:15 am.

Seven new cases were confirmed since Monday, bringing total to 497. 44 cases are listed as active, 20 of them confirmed in the past 14 days. (For more details on cases and on vaccination rates in town, click here.)

Now here is the clinic announcement made by the Northborough Health Department and shared by the NSBORO public schools administration:

The MetroWest-Westborough Regional Collaborative is excited to offer a private Pfizer vaccine clinic for our high school students ages 16 and older.  Given limited supply, this clinic will first be offered just to students in our communities.  If there are unused appointments next week, we may extend to other eligible family members and individuals in our communities. Here are the details:

We know vaccine side effects are not always insignificant. What is the District’s plan for those students who are taking AP, MCAS, and/or SAT tests this month?

Has this impact even been considered?
